Dear All,

My friends ask me, is it likely that someone with the position of
"Camerareer" in Utrecht would be Dutch?  Their ancestors are called 'Pot' or
'Potts' - a surname which could be from many parts of the world - this is
one of the passages I have (attempted) to translate:

Men vergelijke over het verblijf der Engelsche kooplieden te Utrecht den
volgenden post uit de rekening van den eersten cameraer Jacob Pot, 1465-66:
Item so Jan die Waell Claesson dat strifcampt gecoft heft op seker loen van
den lakenen van strijcken te hebben ende dan daernboven den Engelschen
vrijheyt gegeven is bij den rade, dat Jan voirseid tot afterdeell compt, zo
is hem voir dien scade van desen jair bij den oversten gegeven
