Interesting! I thought the Dutch expression 'tjokvol' was exactly that, a
Dutch expression! Have never met it in any other (Germanic) language...
(judging on the /tj/, I would guess it's frisian though?)

That's what I always assumed. In Westerlauwer Frisian "tsjok" means fat (an
Old Frisian breaking of i to ju, as also in rjocht, fjochtsje (right ,
fight) before ch or k, that was followed by a labial, also Fering has "tjok"
e.g.) from West Germanic "*thik(w)"; nowadays for people we use "grou" (a
cognate of Dutch "grof"), and for porridge and such more liquid substances
we can say it is "tsjok". But maybe it can be related to "choke" and would
the Dutch word be an English loan? I wouldn't really say "tsjokfol" in WF
(though it is possible I believe) but "stiiffol" or "aaifol" [full as an
egg], for very full.
