Dear Mark,

Need for apologies did not even enter my mind. As you know, we have a
friendly and even familial atmosphere on Lowlands-L, certainly among the old
hands of the speakers' corner. On and off the List we have shared quite a
bit of personal news with each other over our 14 years, and some of us have
become friends. Of course this includes your Ruth ever since she bravely and
considerately turned to us with the frightening news of you having been
shot.
