Subject: LL-L "Etymology" 2009.11.22 (04) [EN]


Tiffany ultimately comes from the Greek “Theophania” (meaning “revelation of
God”). Its current popularity most likely has to do with Tiffany & Co., the
jewelry company (especially starting in the 1960s after the movie “Breakfast
at Tiffany’s” came out).  I’m sure “Tiffanie” is just a creative way to
spell it dreamed up by her parents.
