I didn't see this post of mine from yesterday appear on the list, so I'll
post it again in case something went wrong.

And this 'beachcomber' has been borrowed into Antwerpian and several Flemish
dialects, supposedly after the liberation in the 2nd worldwar by
English-speaking troops. 'Bitskoemmer' now means 'strange fella',
'suspicious looking dude' altho the Antw. dictionary also lists the original
English meaning:
