Roger asked: re Knight and night (Is there any difference in pronounciation,
btw?)

No, not where I come from in Texas. I never noticed a difference in
pronunciation from anyone from elsewhere either.

When you go to the movie in Brussels these days, be aware that "Knight and
Day" and "Night and Day" are the same film. For the easiness of
pronounciation the K is removed for French Speakers. (Is there any
difference in pronounciation, btw?)

No difference at all in Standard English, and in any dialects I know in
England. I'm not sure if any Scots still pronounce the "k" in words like
knight, knife, knee etc.

But the whole point of "Knight and Day" is the play on words; taking the "k"
out is not just pointless, it is actually confusing.
