Hello Luc et altri

I seem to remember that in a previous message I pointed out that the name
Maria is pronounced as Marja (stressed on the final syllable) in Getelands
(South-East of Brabant). The funny thing is that, as I noticed with some
surprise, in Diest (which is quite near the Getelands region, but having a
distinctly different dialect) the name is pronounced with te stress on the
1st syllable: marja.

Regards,

Roger Hondshoven
Diest (East-Brabant) Belgium
