Hi Pete, hi all,

 It seems to me that the problem is not: English or no English, but the
legal framework (or rather the absence of it) that would regulate the
choice. The general introduction of English as a second language from
kindergarten onwards would deprive the central governments in Den Haag,
Paris etc. of their key argument for enforcing the so-called national
language over the streektalen (the argument being that the country needs a
common communication language).
