Beste jullie allen,

En als we de hik (= ook bij ons de snik) hebben, moeten we vlug een aantal
keren naeen roepen:
 snik snik
spriengd over me rik
 da je oarmes én pootn brikt.
(de hik spring over mijn rug dat je armen en poten breekt)

Of:
ik én de snik,
 giengen no zai
wiendersjhentwai
 wien kairde were, ik
en wien blaif ter doar: de snik
 (ik en de hik gingen naar zee, wij beiden, wie keerde er terug, ik, en wie
bleef er daar: de hik)

Men zegt ook dat je door de hik groeit: de snik groejt of dikt.
