Subject: Status of Afrikaans in Modern South Africa (EN-AF)

I am beginning the research for a paper in an undergraduate English course
on the Afrikaans language and one of the areas that I wish to address is
how the language is viewed commonly among South African of all races.  If
anyone can point me to some resources in this area or have first hand
knowledge on this topic it would be greatly appreciated if you would share
it with me.
