Marsha Wilson <mizwilson2005@yahoo.com>
Subject: LL-L 'Anecdotes' 2007.01.28 (01) [E]

Speaking of anecdotal...Sandy has once again
inadvertantly provided a clue to a long-held family
mystery I hadn't thought about in decades. Each
succeeding dog in my mother's family was named Wyvis.
No one remembered why or where it came from. After
seeing Sandy mention the word here, I googled it and
found the word may have come from a word related to
"terror" - which may have made sense if some long-ago
pet was exceptionally uncouth. Or maybe it was just
someone in Appalachia remembering a beloved mountain
haunt back Scotland. Either way, it shed a little
light on a family peculiarity. Thanks!
Marsha
