I just talked to my daughter and my son who are both trying like mad to become
Dutch citizens. They are quite serious and so – I think – am I.

Dutch citizens.<br><br><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">I don't know about the exact Dutch laws, but from where I am standing it looks like Continental European citizenship laws are traditionally very stringent, probably based on ancient tribalism that equates "country" with "ethnicity." However, your daughter at least should have an advantage because of you and thus her Dutch heritage. Once she succeeds, it should get easier for her husband also. At least that's my theory.
