Algemeen Nederlands. Poestern is een oud werkwoord met de betekenis de dieren 
verzorgen, vee voeren; dit woord betekent ook: alle avondwerk op de boerderij 
uitvoeren. Verpoestern is het Oostends voor een dutje doen, een uiltje 
vangen...</font></div>
<div style="font-family: arial,sans-serif;"><font size="2">Poester heeft bij ons een tweede betekenis, nl. de 
koffie met cognac gemengd en gedronken door onze vissersbevolking en gelijkend 
op het Spaanse carajillo. Dit woord komt trouwens uit het Spaans "postre" 
(dessert, nagerecht) en natuurlijk verwant met alle vormen van "post", 
"posterior" enz.</font></div>
<div style="font-family: arial,sans-serif;"><font size="2">De oorsprong van die woorden heb ik nog niet kunnen 
vinden.</font></div>
