I try to speak Dutch, which I've never actually learned formally, I
naturally tend to fall back on Afrikaans as the nearest thing.  My
Dutch friends told me that they understood the word "stadig" even
though it wasn't normal Dutch. Same went for its opposite"vinnig", I
seem to recall.</div>
