<div style="font-family: arial,sans-serif;">In het Nederlands kennen we "brompot", dat 'chagrijnige,
mopperende, ontevreden persoon' betekent. Daarnaast kennen we een oud
gebruik als de 'rommelpot'. Dat is een aardenwerken pot met een vlies
(meestal een varkensblaas) eroverheen gespannen, waar een stok doorheen
gestoken is die je op en neer beweegt door het gat, waardoor de pot een
'froep-froep'-achtig geluid maakt. Het wordt in straten 'bespeeld'
tijdens katholieke feesten, maar het heeft waarschijnlijk een
voorchristelijke oorsprong.
