"Glom" is a Scots word cognate with English "glum" and so on. Again,</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">these are semantically related, "glum" being the sort of face a person
</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">makes when an uncomfortable truth suddenly dawns on them (see Scottish</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">

This isn't to say that he's wrong about everything, but if you set out</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">to prove that everything comes from some favoured language, you'll find
