<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">From: R. F. Hahn <<a href="mailto:sassisch@yahoo.com">sassisch@yahoo.com</a>> </span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Subject: Members' news</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Dear Lowlanders,</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Last weekend I announced the arrival of our Mathieu's daughter:</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<div style="margin-left: 40px; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 153);">There's a brand-new Lowlander! Our Mathieu -- yes, *the* Mathieu van Woerkom<br>of Lowlands-L renown (<a href="mailto:mathieuvw@gmail.com">mathieuvw@gmail.com</a>) -- has turned into a first-time dad!<br>
<br>Congratulations to our Mathieu and his wife Anneke on the arrival of their <br>long-awaited Maartje!<br><br>And what a splendid, handsome little bundle she is! Take a look at her own<br>website and you'll agree with me:<br>
<br><a href="http://maartje.phileon.nl/guestbook/website.html">http://maartje.phileon.nl/guestbook/website.html</a><br><br>And while you're at it, consider leaving a message in Maartje's guest book.<br><br>Let's try to make this a better world for Maartje and her generation!</div>
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">In the meantime, Dad's been busy documenting everything ... of course. Also, a couple of you kindly left messages in the guest book. Our Marlou is the only one that used a language other than Dutch, namely Low Saxon.</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">True, the website and the instructions are in Dutch, but I assume that messages in languages other than Dutch are welcome. In fact, I think it would be great if you left messages in other languages as well, not necessarily Lowlands ones either. Here we have an opportunity to indoctrinate this young Lowlander lady into the Friends of Language Diversity Faith. In a few years' time she'll ask her parents things like (the equivalent of) "What's this?" "Oh, that's a message to you in (X)." "What's that? X?" and so the conversation begins. ("X" stands for any language.)</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">So, folks, let me guide you if you don't read Dutch:</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<ul style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><li>Go to <a href="http://maartje.phileon.nl/guestbook/website.html">http://maartje.phileon.nl/guestbook/website.html</a> .</li><li>Menu (on the right):</li><ul><li><i>Foto's</i> = photos</li>

I've been following the various events in our Mathieu's life during the last few years, and I for one couldn't be happier for him and more grateful to him.<br>
<br>In case you wonder and don't read Dutch, here's the phrase at the top of each page:<br><br><i>Onze liefde heeft handjes and voetjes gekregen ...</i><br><br>which means something like this:<br><br>"Our love has grown little hands and feet."<br>
<br>Come on now! Everyone smile and say, "Awh"!!!<br></span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Regards,</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
