  <div><font size="2">Volgens mijn beperkte informatie speelt de
handeling zich af in Brussel (jaren 50). Ik vermoed dat het een soort
ornament is in de vorm van een praline (eerder dan van een
grootmoeder), maar dat vermoeden is eigenlijk op wienig gebaseerd.</font></div>

"Bonbon" slaat hoogstwaarschijnlijk op een grote fles vloeibaar gas.
Alle reservoirs die vloeibaar gas onder druk bevatten (gaande van de
kleine blauwe "flesjes" camping-gaz tot de manshoge "citernes"
gas/zuurstof die bijvoorbeeld gebruikt worden door lassers of vroeger
ook in het huishouden) worden gewoonlijk "bonbon" genoemd in het
dialect. Deze laatste kunnen heel veel wegen (zware metalen
beschermhuls + heel veel vloeibaar gas binnenin) en zijn ook vaak
cilindrisch zodat ze bij een kwade val gerust iemand lelijk kunnen
toetakelen.</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="2">Zou het kunnen gaan over een gasfles, in 
Vlaanderen "bobonne" genoemd. Bij die werken in 1956 kan men gas nodig 
gehad hebben bijvoorbeeld als er op die plaats geen electriciteit was tot 
bepaalde werkzaamheden. Grote gasflessen werden door twee personen gedragen. Ze 
moesten regelmatig vervangen worden want de "bobonne" was leeg.</font></div>
