I found this explanation in the Hamburger Abendblatt:<br>"Nicht viel weniger bekannt ist die Redewendung "Buxtehude, wo die Hunde<br>mit dem Schwanz bellen". Dafür hat der Buxtehuder Heimatverein folgende<br>
Erklärung: In Buxtehude, einer Stadt mit niederländischen Siedlern,<br>seien die Glocken schon früh mit einem Seil geschlagen worden - während<br>sie anderswo noch mit dem Hammer geschlagen wurden. Da Glocke<br>niederländisch "Hunte" hieß, wurde Buxtehude als Ort bekannt, wo die<br>
