grandfather grew up in a large family in rural South Carolina before
and during the Great Depression. He actually did eat crow on occasion.
The birds were often shot on sight, as they would damage crops, and
times being what they were, nobody wanted to waste an available protein
source. Crows are not particularly desirable as a game bird, though, as
they don't have much meat relative to their size. My grandfather didn't
