Subject: Language politics<br><br>Hi, Mike!<br><br>Of course nothing will change overnight. It's the same in the other EU countries in which regional and minority languages were officially recognized years ago. But there's something to be said for having some constitutional leverage in that it puts the language movements on firmer ground.<br>
<br>Now it's up to the movements to get their act together.<br><br>Just grumbling and "making <i>Modergeruch</i> in the background" doesn't do anyone much good.<br><br>Aren't you already sending your children to an Occitan school? So why not for a start call for changing Occitan education from "foreign language" to "regional language," thus fully legitimizing it?<br>
