"two" group of words, probably because it denotes a lane or rather an

<p><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">As in "twitten"
[not sure about spelling as I've only heard it being said ] - which my
mother used as a young girl in Norfolk for a small (covered) way between houses
usually leading to houses in a courtyard at the back.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">Worcester</span><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;"> still has a number of these in its
one remaining medieval street , as does Tewkesbury.
In Worcester they are usually known as XXX Alley
; not sure of the Tewkesbury term.</span></p>
