Dear Lowlanders,<br>

For a while, there were only <i>de facto</i> national anthems of Scotland, <i>Flower
of Scotland</i> and <i>Scotland the Brave </i>being foremost amongst them.<br>
<br>
Lately I've been seing <i>Flower of Scotland</i> described as Scotland's national
anthem, though the Wikipedia still labels it as <i>de facto</i> along with <i>Scotland
the Brave</i>.<br>

Has there been any official decision lately?<br>

I certainly like both songs, though I find <i>Scotland the Brave</i> a bit
biased on the Highlands side, and I wonder if the words of <i>Flower of
Scotland</i> (which I prefer somewhat) aren't a bit too much in the face of
England within a UK context.<br>

I also realize that so far England has no <i>de jure</i> national anthem, the <i>de
facto</i> ones being <i>God Save the Queen/King</i> (the UK anthem), <i>Jerusalem</i>,
and <i>Land of Hope and Glory</i>. I suppose the problem here lies in the fact
that these days there is no official, political overall entity called England.<br>
