Well, Paul, more educated Swedes today must be aware that they used to be
perceived as a threat in places like Norway, Denmark, Northeastern Germany, the
Baltic Countries and Finland. Bear in mind that there used to be a good deal of
turf fighting within Scandinavia, and both Denmark
and Sweden
used to be colonizing powers until not terribly long ago.<br>
<br>
And certain<span style=""> </span>communities of speakers of
what they claim are separate Scandinavian languages still have gripes about
Swedish language domination and non-recognition of their languages ~ dialect
groups (Elfdalian, Gutnish, Jamtlandic, Scanian).<br>
