knows?) there is no relation between uksel and oksel. Oksel
does not seem to be suffix-formation like uksel, which is derived
from the root of the verb Middle Dutch jucken, followed by the rather
common suffix -sel. This suffix is extant in a number of words in
Getelands: blauwsel, pron. bla:tsel; boemsel "boenwas"
< boemen "boenen", heisel "zuurdesem,
zuurdeeg",,MDutch heefsel < heffen; hetsel , "bussel
droge twijgen, takjes gebruikt om de bakoven te stoken" , Kiliaan heytsel
< heten "verwarmen"; schutsel "schutting,
heining; schot" <schutten; vodsel, pron. vutsel "korte
sok" < vodsel
