Liebe Lowlanders, hier eine Frage. Ein befreundeter westfälischer Plattsprecher
sagte neulich, jemand sei ein Spökenkieker, der könne "Schichtig
kieken". Ich stellte sofort den letzteren Ausdruck in Frage, aber er
rechtfertigt ihn so:</p>

<p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">>
Friedrich Woeste, Wörterbuch der westfälischen Mundart, <br>
> Wiesbaden 1930 (ist aber älter, denn Woeste starb schon 1878), S. 228:<br>
> „schichten = 1. teilen bei erbschaften, 2. geister, vorgeschichten sehen.<br>
> schichtern = 1. schichten (s.o.), 2. hai kann schichtern = hai es en <br>
> spökenkieker“<br>
> Ich kenne aber auch noch die Formulierungen „schichtig kieken“ und <br>
> „Schichtkieker“, also gibt es wenigstens noch eine weitere Belegstelle. <br>
> Außerdem meine ich, einmal in einem literarischen Werk gelesen zu haben <br>
> „Häi / Säi kann schichtig kieken.“ Und war das nicht der Schimmelreiter? <br>
> Nein, das literarische Werk war Siegfried Lenz' "Deutschstunde",

zweite Gesicht. Dort ziemlich mittig: "Kann hei schichtig kieken?" <br>
> Bezieht sich auf den Vater des Erzählers, also auf den Polizisten. </span></p>
<p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">> Auch
in unseren Breiten kennen dieses Wort nur noch alte Eisberge, </span></p>
<p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">> das
besser bekannte ist natürlich der Spökenkieker.</span></p>
<p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Was steckt
da alles drin? "Schicht" kommt doch von "scheiden", von
"auseinanderhalten" also. Ob da das "schehen" aus
"ge-schehen" mit drin ist, weiß ich nicht sicher, aber möglich ist
es, besonders wenn man bedenkt, dass sich das Ge-schehene in Ge-schichte
wandelt. "Schichtig kieken" würde dann bedeuten "Sehen, was
geschieht", "Zukünftiges auseinanderhalten können". Am Ende ist
in "Schicht" ganz einfach die "Sicht" drin?! "Sichtig
kieken" würde ja keiner weiteren Erläuterung mehr bedürfen.</span></p>
<p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Â </span></p>
<p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Kann ein
