I seem to remember reading that in the UK, they even had Derrick</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
lookalike contests in the 80s, but I haven't found any proof on the</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
Internet. There is a good Wikipedia article in English about Derrick</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
however, stating: "The series received enormous popularity and was aired</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
in more than 100 countries worldwide". (I have always found it stilted</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
and boring, but that's just me.)</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">

For those who don't know it, it's a show with different teams of</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
detectives in different cities in Germany and Austria, in the rich</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
tradition of good German crime shows - usually way more psychological</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
and less action-oriented than US shows. Actually quite comparable to the</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
few British cop shows I know, like the Inspector Lynley mysteries or</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
"The gentle touch" (to get back to the 80s). Ah, TV in the good old days.</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
