<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Subject: Projects<br><br>Dear Lowlanders,<br><br>This weekend I was so fortunate as to add some non-subscribers' contributions to our Anniversary presentation (<a href="http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/">http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/</a>).</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Stefan Lubbersen in the Netherlands contributed a translation of the story in Veluwe Low Saxon:</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/veluws.php">http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/veluws.php</a></span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Outside the Lowlands region, our Mike Wintzer made an exemplary effort by rounding up his neighbors in Southern France and having them narrate existing translations of two Southwest European regional languages:</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Three ladies (one of them aged 85 -- and we don't spare even the elderly) narrated the Occitan translation:</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/occitan.php">http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/occitan.php</a></span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">One gentleman, originally from Valencia, Spain, narrated the translation in Valencian, one of the dialect groups of the Catalan-Valencian-Balear language, which has some speaker communities in Southern France and in Sardinia, Italy, as well:</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/valencia.php">http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/valencia.php</a></span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Thanks to you and your neighbors, Mike! Hopefully others will follow your lead.</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">There are now 251 translations of the story and 255 sound files, folks! This is by far our most visited presentation.</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Folks, don't forget that a mere click (next to "Language information") takes you to an introduction to a language or dialect group.</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I should also mention that our other projects are not supposed to lie dormant.</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">I was happy to add another one of our Tom Mc Rae's masterpieces (<a href="http://lowlands-l.net/gallery/mcrae.php">http://lowlands-l.net/gallery/mcrae.php</a>). This is another gem in his series "Poems by the New McGonagall" (<a href="http://lowlands-l.net/gallery/mcrae_new_mcgonagall.php">http://lowlands-l.net/gallery/mcrae_new_mcgonagall.php</a>).</span> <br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">(You may encounter the old McGonagall here: <a href="http://lowlands-l.net/gallery/mcrae_mcgonagall.php">http://lowlands-l.net/gallery/mcrae_mcgonagall.php</a> .)</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">With its most intriguing and rather elegant title "The Squidledeydoo", this latest of our Tom's gems in masterful Scottish style causes you to reflect on the pluses and minuses of literacy:</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><a href="http://lowlands-l.net/gallery/mcrae_new_mcg_squidledeydoo.php">http://lowlands-l.net/gallery/mcrae_new_mcg_squidledeydoo.php</a></span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Enjoy!</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Regards,</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Reinhard/Ron</span><br style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
