Volk von Riesen, von denen uns noch heute ihre Grabstätten, die sogenannten 

Hünengräber, Kunde geben. Bevor sie von den Menschen verdrängt wurden, geschah 

es einmal, daß ein junges Riesenmädchen</font></div>

<div style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="2">von seinem Vater den Auftrag erhielt, die Schweine 

in den Wald zu treiben. Das Riesenmädchen, das bislang noch niemals die 

elterliche Behausung verlassen hatte, erblickte mit Staunen die ihm fremde Welt 

und entdeckte dabei auf einem Acker ein putziges Geschöpf, das mit zwei winzigen 

Öchslein und einem ebenso winzigen Pflug das Feld bestellte. Entzückt raffte das 

Riesenmädchen das vermeintliche "Spielzeug" auf, barg es in seiner  Schürze 

und eilte in großen Sprüngen heimwärts, um seinem Vater den seltsamen Fund zu 

zeigen. Der aber schüttelte ernst den Kopf und sagte bekümmert: "Dat sünd uns' 

Verdriwer. Vör dei möt' wi wiken." - Da fragte das Riesenmädchenn: "Sal 'k denn 

nich en Pöölken maken un se dor in versöpen"? Der Vater erwiderte traurig, daß 

damit nichts geholfen sei, denn "de Lütten krigen uns doch ünner".</font></div>

<div style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="2">Und wie der  Riese es vorausgesagt hatte, 

geschah es: die Menschen rissen die Herrschaft im Lande an sich und verdrängten 

die Riesen immer mehr, bis sie schließlich ausstarben. Wären nicht die alten 

Hünengräber noch vorhanden, wüßten heutzutage nur wenige Menschen von den alten 

Einwohnern Mecklenburgs.</font></div>

Gedanken, die Tiefe des Luzinsees zu messen. Sie banden zu diesem Zweck den 

hinteren Teil eines Wagens an lange Stricke und schoben ihn dann in die Fluten. 

Er sank mit großer Geschwindigkeit tiefer und immer tiefer, so daß die beiden 

Männer kaum das Seil so schnell abwickeln konnten. Als das Seil zu Ende war, sank das 

Wagenstück immer noch weiter. Plötzlich fühlten die Fischer mit Entsetzen, daß 

heftig am Strick gezogen und gezerrt wurde, und vernahmen aus der Tiefe die 

Worte: "Laßt ab von dem Messen! Ihr stört unsre Ruhe!"</font></div>

<div style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="2">Erschrocken begannen sie, das Seil wieder 

aufzuwinden. Zu ihrer Verwunderung ließ es sich so leicht hochziehen, als hinge 

das Wagenstück gar nicht mehr daran. Tatsächlich fanden sie, als das Seil 

aufgewickelt war, nicht mehr das Wagenstück am Ende desselben, sondern einen 

Pferdeschädel ohne Fell und Zahn.</font></div>

Krakower See schütten und schleppte zu diesem Zweck große Mengen Sand in seiner

und der Sand fiel in den See. Davon entstand ein Hügel, der als Halbinsel weit 

in den See vorsprang. Infolge dieses Mißgeschicks verging dem Riesen die Lust an 

seinem Vorhaben. Er stieß voller Ärger seinen Besen mit dem Stiel so tief in die 

Erde, daß er als Baum dort anwuchs, und stampfte brummend davon.</font></div>
