<h1><font size="4">Association SOS Blootland : déjà 22 ans au service du 

patrimoine de la Flandre</font></h1>

l'association SOS Blootland qui, depuis 1988, ...  s'attache à préserver le 

patrimoine culturel, linguistique et traditionnel de la Flandre. C'est la 

sortie, en 1988, d'un disque 33 tours, Chants populaires des populations 

maritimes des côtes de Flandre qui marque les débuts de SOS Blootland. Les trois 

musiciens et membres fondateurs sont alors Raymond Declerck dit Klerktje , 

Gérald Ryckeboer et puis Jacques Yvart, le French troubadour dunkerquois, qui 

fut aussi un des bons copains de Georges Brassens. Avec Joël Devos, président de 

l'association, Christian Declerck et Katrien Delavier, une harpiste réputée 

(elle décédera en 1998), ils fondent Blootland, un groupe de musique dédié aux 

chants marins. Joël Devos, traduit : « Blootland est un mot flamand qui 

peut se traduire par "terre nue" ou encore "plat pays" par opposition à 

l'Houtland qui signifie le "pays du bois" et correspond à la partie vallonnée de 

la Flandre . » Un an après, SOS Blootland sort un livre, Guérir en Flandre 

(Genezen En Aflezen). Joël raconte : « On est allés interviewer des 

guérisseurs pour savoir comment ils soignaient des zonas ou des brûlures ! On en 

a déjà écoulé 5 000 exemplaires et on en est au cinquième tirage ! ». 

Viennent ensuite un 45 tours, We zyn in Vlaenderen (Nous sommes en Flandre) puis 

une cassette de chants traditionnels, Joël en Klerktje.</font></div>

<p>Dans les années quatre-vingt-dix, le CD a fait son apparition et SOS 

Blootland en sort un premier en 2001 qui n'est autre que le deuxième volume des 

Chants populaires des populations maritimes des côtes de Flandre. Un livre 

intitulé Ce que les pêcheurs d'Islande racontaient , paru en 1997 et aujourd'hui 

épuisé, complétera leur production ainsi qu'un autre CD, écrit et composé par 

Edmonde Vanhille, Op ze vlaams(à la flamande) en 2005. </p>

<p>SOS Blootland compte trente membres et Joël, qui joue de la guitare et de la 

clarinette, explique la contribution de chacun : « On fonctionne avec un 

système de référents pour être présents auprès d'organismes tels que l'ADELFA 

(assemblée pour la défense de l'environnement du Littoral Flandre-Artois), la 

FRCPM (la fédération régionale pour la culture et le patrimoine maritime), 

l'ILRF (înstitut de la langue régionale flamande) ou encore la radio 

Uylenspiegel à Cassel ! » 

</p><h4>Sur les ondes </h4>

<p>Tous les premiers dimanches des mois pairs, de 18 h à 20 h, SOS Blootland 

anime une émission sur la fréquence FM 91.8. Le prochain invité sera Dominique 

Bommel (Bémol Productions), joueur émérite de cornemuse. SOS Blootland, nous 

donnera aussi rendez-vous le 2 avril prochain à la mairie de quartier de 

Malo-les-Bains pour deux conférences de Jacques Mahieu sur l'origine des noms de 

familles et de lieux flamands. • </p>
