distribution of places whose names contain certain substrings (suffixes,

Please be aware that the tool uses Google Maps and Javascript. For very common
suffixes like "-um" it may take some time until your computer has
computed the input and displays the map.</span></p>

names are pronounced "um", or rather "  'm " with a
neutral vowel. The American pronunciation of Birming<u>ham</u>
in Alabama sounds a little odd to English
ears; the place in England
is normally said something like "Be'ming'm". (Though the locals
commonly say "Brummagen", or just "Brum").</p>
