why I specifically added "in Texas". Without the context being
available, the image of a veehouderij that comes up, is one of normal
sized farm (for Dutch standards) with not too many cows. If however the
word is applied to an operation in the afore-mentioned Texas, an image
of a large ranch comes up.<br>

word for 'enchilada', like 'rolled cheese' that would conjure up the image of
an enchilada only in the US SW versus something quite different in Scotland, say.
So we might argue that simply borrowing the Spanish word gives us more
precision independent of the cultural context, Arizona
vs Scotland.

ranches here, so if one speaks of a ranch, it's pretty obvious that it's
somewhere in the Americas, not in NL.<br>

specify the cultural-geographical context. I think only English and Spanish and

the Dutch had their colonies, and therefrom we have the same problem.
If however I look only within the Netherlands, the same problem still
exists. Even in this small a country, the meaning of a word can vary
depending on which region it is used in.<br>
