 say that the word "dotete" is related to the Dutch word "doto". I'm 
Dutch, but have to admit that I don't know the word "doto", nor have I 
been able to find it, apart from it being the name of a certain sea slug
 (that doesn't occur anywhere in the lowlands). Personally, I think 
that's bollocks, but perhaps someone can shed a light on this?<br>

<br>Subject: Language varieties<br><br>Henry,<br><br>I took it as meaning that Berbice Dutch <i>doto</i> comes from Dutch <i>dood</i>, and <i>dotete</i> comes from <i>"dood dat</i>", i.e. <i>die is dood</i> 'that one is dead."<br>
