<span></span> </div><div><span>On the Pot Luck day everybody prepares at noon food for the collegues, and this turned into a very large buffet.</span></div><div><span>I tasted little meatballs prepared in at least 15 different ways.</span></div>
<div><span>I could have done a similar tour among the chicken wings, but I don't particulary like these goodies.</span></div><div><span>(I contributed myself with "healthy" cookies from Trader Joe).</span></div>

Subject: Traditions<br><br>Hi, Roger!<br><br>I hope you are having fun in good old Missouri.<br><br>I've been led to believe that the potluck tradition began in England. Nowadays it is not confined to North America but can be found in many former British colonies as well. But, yes, it is a big deal in North America.<br>
<br>The idea is that at a gathering all participants bring one or more dishes of their own and share them with others. So it ends up being a buffet. It can be a lot of fun and is very common at any time of the year. They are typical for parties of coworkers, clubs and faith communities. <br>
<br>Of course, not all types of dishes are suitable for potlucks. Best suited are those that do not spoil easily, that can be easily transported and that can be served at room temperature. This would explain the repetitiveness you experienced.<br>
