<div>- een goedhartige kerel;</div><div>- een brave, maar toch mollige hond.</div><div><br></div><div>In het Middelnederlands kwam het woord "lob", "lobbe" alleszins al voor met de betekenissen:</div>

<span style="white-space:pre-wrap"> </span>slip, mouw...</div><div><span style="white-space:pre-wrap"> </span>kwab.</div><div><br></div><div>Het Noors "lubben" = mollig.</div><div>In de 16de eeuw betekende het Nederlands "lob": plooikraag, maar ook harige hond. </div>
<div>Het Fries kent: lobbich, lobberich = dikke, gebonden vloeistof.</div><div>het Friese werkwoord "lobje" betekent dan ook: afromen (maar ook castreren)...</div><div><br></div><div>In elk geval: wij gebruiken in West-vlaanderen ook de woorden:</div>
<div><br></div><div>loebas, labbekakker voor een ongewenste deugniet.</div><div>Ja, er zijn ook lieve deugnietjes; die noemen wij te Oostende "tsjiepetsjows". </div><div><br></div><div><div>Ik denk ook aan longlobben of longkwabben, en tweezaadlobbig.</div>
