On an Irish surname website I found this<br>

Kinsella                Ó Cinnsealach<br>
Kirwan          Ó Ciardubháin<br>
       "Dubhain" meand "black" which
probably refers to a dark person from<br>
Spain.<br>
The Kinsellas were one of the tribes of Galway.<br>
<br>
I haven't checked out the latter but would suggest that perhaps a<br>
Kinsella married a Palatine emigrant and this started the family<br>
history<br>
