Afrikaans he/she can relate to in their own language – in this case HC
Andersen’s tales, which I got from an ‘encyclopedical’ afrikaan series

country, referring to food, daily life, habits, etc (i.e. socio-cultural

read the HCA tale sand was amazed at how well she understood the
Afrikaans then.I let her read the section about the daily life in
denmark, and up popped <i>hakkeboef</i>, which I immediatly recognised in <i>haggis</i> and <i>haksel </i>(Afrikaans) The <i>boef</i>
part, could see, related to beef, and then I asked her about how
hakke/hagge could be a Scotch word as well. She brought me a pictorial
travel through denmark, in which I read about the early Scoyts and
Vikings, and how Danish girls were taken back to Scotland. That
explained to me why they would have a word such as haggis in Scotch.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">Back
to the afrikaans vorm, which also refers to (the remaining) mea tafter
everything else has been processed/cut etc. If indeed haggis got to
scotland via denmark there should be more Germanic languages wit ha

<b>Haschee: </b>Die seit dem Beginn des 18. Jh.s bezeugte
Bezeichnung für "feines Hackfleisch" ist kein eigentliches
Lehnwort, sondern eine eindeutschende Substantivierung aus <i>frz.
</i>viande hachée "gehacktes Fleisch", wofür im <i>Frz. </i>hachis
gilt. Das <i>frz. Verb </i>hacher <i>"zerhacken" </i>wurde im
20. Jh. selbständig as <b>haschieren </b>übernommen und in die
Bedeutung an 'Haschee' angeglichen, im Sinne von "Haschee machen".
Grundwort ist <i>frz. </i>hache "Axt, Beil", das auf <i>afränkt.
</i>happja zurückgeht.<br>
