just a quick question

Dear Joe,

I agree, agree, and agree some more. Ours is old stuff by now, but Jim
Lockhart and I wrote about some of this in Nahuatl in the Middle Years
(1976), trying to account for the orthographically missing n's (mostly) and
the occasional orthographic substitutions of one consonant for another.
Then I published a long footnote specifically about nasals from NMY in
Linguistic Inquiry. And then, not really feeling done with the topic, we
put another paper "Characteristics of Nahuatl Resonants" in the proceedings
of Southwest Areal Linguistics (SWALLOW) V, which was published out of
Trinity U. in San Antonio way back in 1977 (when we were all still young).
