But, John, the devoicing of sonorants /w, l, y/ in nahuatl occurs in __#, __ [- voiced], if we expect the same patter for /n/ we must devoing of /n/ in /aman/ and in /aman(tzin)/. Therefore the first "n" in "amantzi" sould have the same audibility that the second, is it not the case?
