Nahuatl distance courses

	We at the Instituto de Docencia e Investigación Etnológica de  
Zacatecas taught an introductory level distance course in Classical  
and Modern Nahuatl at Yale last year. We will teach the same course at  
Yale, Columbia and NYU this next school year, and we will be  
developing the curriculum for intermediate and advanced level studies.  
These courses will be taught live by myself and my native speaking TAs  
using Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro, a web based program which permits  
live audio and video interaction between instructor and students, as  
well as an interactive whiteboard and the presentation of pre-recorded  
audio-visual material.
	Each course includes two hours per week of Classical Nahuatl and  
three hours per week of Modern Huastecan Nahuatl. We would like to  
provide students with language tools and cultural information that  
will allow them to better understand not only Nahua Civilization but  
all aspects of the economic, political, cultural, social and  
historical evolution of Mexico.
	At some point in the near future, we plan to offer enrollment to  
anyone in the world with an internet connection. If you are interested
