There's something wrong in the way you've spelled Susan's term.

I think quiyahuitl may indicate specifically the space rather than the 
wooden thing. Here are some other terms I have:

door  tlatzacuillotl.
door sill  cuauhpepechtli.
i close the door.  nicuauhtzatzacua
