Haejoong Lee has developed a new OLAC harvester, which is downloadable from
the OLAC tools page [http://www.language-archives.org/tools.html].

With this, anyone can harvest the records from OLAC archives and store them
in a local database, and provide some community service on the data.
Although LINGUIST List is the primary OLAC service provider
[http://www.linguistlist.org/olac/], we encourage others to create their
own services based on OLAC archives.

The OLAC harvester only does the data collection side of the job. Service
providers must create their own user interface to the database.

The OLAC harvester is distributed under an open source license. It is
based on the OAI harvester by Hussein Suleman at Virginia Tech.
