LAST CALL FOR PAPERS – EXTENDED DEADLINE

The call for papers for the second edition of the Sorbonne Nouvelle University Graduate Linguistics Symposium (SNUGLS) is extended to February 28th, 2011. We invite junior researchers (M2, doctoral students, and 1st year post-docs) to submit papers relating to various fields of linguistics. The conference language is English and presentations will be allotted 20 minutes. Among other topics, presentations might include:

- Language acquisition
- Language and the mind
- Multimodality
- Applied linguistics
- Methods of data collection
- Linguistic structure
- Discourse analysis

Since one of the major purposes of SNUGLS is to give junior researchers a chance to practise their presentation skills in English, discussion sessions will be organised during the day to provide friendly feedback to the participants.

Our keynote speaker is now confirmed!
Nancy Chang from the University of California at Berkeley will be our SNUGLS guest speaker. She is currently a research fellow at the University Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3, where she works as a computer scientist, a cognitive linguist and occasional tutor for French-speaking scholars who wish to publish according to international academic standards.

Submission guidelines:
Email two copies of your 250-word abstract, with a title and 5 keywords, to snugls2011 at gmail.com. One copy should be anonymous while the other should include the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s).
New application deadline: February 28th, 2011.
Acceptance notices will be sent on March 8th, 2011.
