Dear Colleagues,

Attached is a call for papers for the International Child Phonology Conference to be held next summer at the University of Minnesota. I think this conference would be of interest to many in the mfm community.

Best,
Ashley Farris-Trimble

Call for Papers: Please Circulate

The International Child Phonology Conference (ICPC) 2012 will take place at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, June 4-6, 2012.
The ICPC has met annually for over 30 years in the US and abroad. This year it returns to the part of the US where it originated: the Midwest. ICPC has evolved into a forum for talks, posters, and collegial discussions on all aspects of children's speech-sound development. Presentations from recent meetings have covered a broad range of topics, including clinical topics, computational modeling, the relationship between continuous phonetic variation and abstract phonological knowledge, implications for phonological theory, typical and atypical development in infants, toddlers and older children, second-language issues, and both oral and signed languages. This list is by no means exclusive: we invite proposals for talks and posters covering any aspect of children's speech-sound development.

A conference Web site can be found at
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~munso005/ChildPhonology/. Please note that this Web site links to the program from the 2011 ICPC, and includes links to slides and posters from that conference.

Abstracts should be submitted via the Easy Chair Web site, https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icpc20120. Authors should indicate whether they prefer to present an oral paper or a poster.
Oral presentations will be allocated a 30-minute slot each, to include a 5-10 minute discussion. Posters will be displayed in dedicated poster sessions that do not overlap with oral presentations. The final format of the presentation will be decided on by the committee.
Abstracts should be 500 words long, with an additional page for references, examples, figures, tables, and tableaux, if needed.
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed anonymously and independently by three members of the scientific committee.

Abstracts due: January 15, 2012
Notification of outcome: February 1, 2012 Program published on website: February 28, 2012

Pre-registration begins: January 15, 2012 Early registration, non-student: $100 ($125 after 1 May 2012) Early registration, student or postdoc: $50 ($60 after 1 May 2012)

Questions about ICPC 2012 should be directed to Benjamin Munson at munso005 at umn.edu
