CALL FOR PAPERS - Semantics and Modeling (JSM04)<br><br>
The GDR Sémantique et Modélisation (CNRS) and the<br>
Ecole Normale Supérieure Lettres et Sciences Humaines (ENS--LSH)<br>
jointly organize the second edition of Semantics and<br>
Modeling (JSM04).<br><br>
The conference will be held in Lyon (France) on the site of the<br>
ENS-LSH on 25 and 26 March 2004. The general goal of the conference is to
<br>
promote research on the<br>
representation of linguistic meaning and interpretation with the
help<br>
of formal models. In view of<br>
the development of corpus-based research in semantics and related
fields,<br>
proposals articulating the use of corpora and representational<br>
problems in semantics and pragmatics are particularly welcome.<br><br>

TOPICS <br><br>
We invite abstracts that address any problem in the modeling of<br>
linguistic meaning and interpretation. This includes but is not<br>
limited to the following topics:<br><br>
- syntax--semantics interface,<br>
- tense and aspect,<br>
- lexical meaning,<br>
- functional words (determiners, pronouns, etc.),<br>
- information structure,<br>
- presuppositions and implicatures,<br>
- speech acts,<br>
- discourse relations in text and dialogue, <br><br>

Corpus-based research contributing to shed light on these and
similar<br>
topics will be favorably considered.<br><br>

Compte tenu du développement de l'exploitation de corpus en sémantique

dans les domaine connexes, les propositions qui articulent l'utilisation

corpus et les problèmes de représentation en sémantique et pragmatique
seront<br>
les bienvenues.<br><br>

THEMATIQUE<br><br>
Nous invitons toutes les personnes intéressées à soumettre des
résumés qui<br>
portent sur un problème de modélisation du sens et de l'interprétation.
Cela<br>
inclut par exemple, mais sans s'y limiter, les problèmes de
représentation<br>
qui touchent aux questions suivantes :<br><br>
- l'interface syntaxe sémantique,<br>
- le temps et l'aspect,<br>
- le sens lexical,<br>
- le sens grammatical,<br>
- la structure informationnelle,<br>
- les présuppositions et les implicatures,<br>
- les actes de langage,<br>
- les relations de discours dans les textes et dans les
dialogues.<br><br>
Les recherches sur corpus qui contribuent à clarifier ces questions
ou<br>
d'autres du même type feront l'objet d'une attention
particulière<br><br>

CONDITIONS DE SOUMISSION<br><br>
Les résumés doivent être anonymes. Ils ne doivent pas dépasser deux
pages,<br>
exemples et indications bibliographiques compris. Ils devront comporter
une<br>
marge de 2,5 cm au moins sur chaque côté et utiliser une taille de police
de<br>
12 pts minimum.<br><br>
Les fichiers peuvent être en texte brut, PDF, RTF, ou Word. Les noms et
les<br>
affiliations doivent être inclus dans le corps du message. Les
propositions<br>
doivent parvenir à l'adresse jsm04@ens-lsh.fr au plus tard le 5 janvier
