face="Lucida Grande" size=3>La nasalité vocalique implique l’interaction de
nombreux facteurs phonétiques et phonologiques. En</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>production de la parole, l’amplitude et le timing
du geste d’ouverture du port vélo-pharyngé varient</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>selon les langues et constituent l’un des enjeux
majeurs des théories de la coarticulation. En perception</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>de la parole, de nombreuses contraintes agissent
sur l’implémentation de la nasalité vocalique. Ainsi,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>les effets acoustiques du couplage nasal
impliquent une réduction de l’espace perceptuel pour les</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>voyelles nasales par rapport aux orales
correspondantes (Wright, 1986). Sur l’axe syntagmatique, la</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>perception de la nasalité vocalique dépend du taux
de nasalisation des consonnes voisines (Kawasaki,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>1986) ainsi que de leur degré d’ouverture
glottique (Ohala & Busà, 1995). Enfin, des contraintes</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>externes peuvent agir sur la réalisation de la
nasalité, notamment celles qui sont liées à l’inventaire</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>phonologique de la langue: les voyelles nasales
doivent être suffisament différentes phonétiquement</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>des orales qui leur correspondent
phonologiquement.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>Le français fournit un cas d’étude
particulièrement intéressant parce que: (i) le contraste
phonologique</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>de nasalité y est présent tant pour les voyelles
que pour les consonnes, ce qui provoque de nombreux</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>phénomènes de coproduction-coarticulation dans la
chaîne parlée; (ii) le système phonologique des</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>locuteurs peut compter jusqu’à 16 voyelles, ce qui
peut induire de nombreuses interactions</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>perceptuelles entre articulations covariantes. Un
intérêt supplémentaire du français est que les voyelles</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>nasales sont réalisées phonétiquement de façon
nettement différente dans les trois grands groupes</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>dialectaux: le français québécois, le français
européen septentrional (moitié nord de la France,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>Belgique, Suisse) et le français méridional.
L’étude comparée de ces réalisations doit permettre de</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>déterminer comment chacun des dialectes a
rencontré les différentes contraintes en relation avec son</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>système propre, et d’ainsi aborder la question du
niveau de traitement cognitif de ces phénomènes:</FONT></DIV>

face="Lucida Grande" size=3>règles phonologiques spécifiques, règles
phonétiques, ou bien phonétique contrôlée (Kingston &</FONT></DIV>

<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>Dans cet exposé, je présenterai les résultats de
mes travaux concernant l’implémentation de la nasalité</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>vocalique dans différents dialectes du français.
La première partie de l’exposé sera consacrée à la</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>discussion de résultats obtenus au cours de ma
thèse (Delvaux, 2003, 2004) à propos du français de</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>Belgique. L’accent sera mis notamment sur les
implications des expériences perceptuelles de</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>discrimination. Les performances seront comparées
à celles d’auditeurs anglophones sur les mêmes</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>stimuli. Dans une seconde partie, je présenterai
les premiers résultats d’une étude concernant les</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>voyelles nasales en français québécois (Delvaux,
2006). En production de la parole, des données</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>aérodynamiques, articulatoires (par ultra-sons et
lèvres bleues) et acoustiques ont été acquises</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>simultanément sur un corpus de mots et de non mots
du français. Les résultats obtenus permettent de</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>nuancer l’affirmation selon laquelle les nasales
québécoises sont toutes antériorisées par rapport à leur</FONT></DIV>
<DIV style="MARGIN: 0px"><FONT style="FONT: 12px Lucida Grande"
face="Lucida Grande" size=3>correspondante orale (alors que l’inverse se
produit en français septentrional). A partir de là, nous</FONT></DIV>

face="Lucida Grande" size=3>discuterons des problèmes de covariation
articulatoire, d’interaction perceptuelle et de contrôle</FONT></DIV>

l’implémentation de la nasalité vocalique en français.</FONT></DIV>
