Adjectifs et périphéries nominales<br>

Résumé :<br>
Le but de cette conférence est de proposer un conception particulière de la <br>
structure du groupe nominal roumain, une structure qui pourrait être <br>
généralisée aux autres langue romanes.<br>
<br>
Les données empiriques examinées concernent l’adjectif à l’intérieur du DP, <br>
spécifiquement la position de l’adjectif par rapport a la tête nominale, <br>
ainsi que l’ordre relatif des adjectifs eux-mêmes ; dans une dernière <br>
section, on discute l’ordre des adjectifs par rapport au démonstratif <br>
post-posé en roumain. Donc la question examinée dans cette conférence est <br>
celle de la linéarisation des adjectifs dans le DP. L’analyse des adjectifs <br>
met en évidence l’existence de deux cycles de linéarisation, et si on accepte <br>
que la linéarisation est une propriété des phases, les deux cycles de <br>
linéarisation témoignent de l’existence de deux phases dans le DP, une phase <br>
lexicale nominale, le NP, et une phase fonctionnelle, le DP (cf. Svenonius, <br>
2004).<br>
Le point de départ de l’analyse est une classification des adjectifs. Du <br>
point de vue syntaxique il y a des modifieurs NP et DP ; dans une perspective <br>
ontologique, il y a des lectures qui portent sur les objets et des lectures <br>
qui portent sur les genres ; dans une perspective sémantique, il y a deux <br>
mécanismes combinatoires <wbr>: l’application fonctionnelle et la modification des <br>
prédicats. La syntaxe de l’adjectif découle de sa dénotation.<br>

Les propriétés syntaxiques et sémantiques des adjectifs sont mieux expliquées <br>
par l’hypothèse que tous les adjectifs pré-nominaux en roumain sont <br>
périphériques (vérifient un trait de type P) mais ils appartiennent soit à la <br>
périphérie du NP, soit à la périphérie du DP. L’interprétation des adjectifs <br>
pré-nominaux dans les deux périphéries par rapport aux adjectifs <br>
post-nominaux montre que les deux périphéries vérifient les mimes traits P <br>
(traits modaux et quantificationnels)<wbr>, ce qui montre l’isomorphisme des deux <br>
périphéries. Le trait qui unit les adjectifs périphériques est qu’ils sont <br>
non-restrictifs. L’existence des deux périphéries est visible dans un série <br>
de différences interprétatives et syntaxiques qui concernent la dénotation <br>
des adjectifs, la possibilité d’interprétation générique, l’interprétation <br>
spécifique des indéfinis, l’interprétation présuppositionnelle des groupes <br>
définis, l’ordre par rapport au numéral cardinal.<br>
