<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify;" class="MsoNormal"><FONT size="3"><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN lang="DE">Le choix de ce thème est motivé par le constat qu’à l’ère de la grammaire comparée, l’étude des noms propres était perçue comme une partie intégrante de l’enseignement et de la recherche universitaires et jouissait ainsi d’un prestige considérable, alors qu’il en est malheureusement tout autrement au début du XXI<SUP>e</SUP> siècle : on brosse généralement un tableau assez sombre de cette discipline à laquelle on reproche même parfois d’être en décalage plus ou moins complet avec les grands courants de la linguistique actuelle. On ne se trompera sans doute pas en supposant que l’onomastique est actuellement impliquée dans un processus </SPAN><SPAN>d’« auto</SPAN><SPAN lang="DE">-analyse</SPAN><SPAN> » et de remise en question qui vise à redéfinir ses objectifs scientifiques. À maints égards, de nouvelles perspectives sont ouvertes et une nouvelle conception de cette science se profile, autant en diachronie qu’en synchronie. L’onomastique littéraire, l’étude des noms de marques et de produits, la socio-onomastique ou le lien entre onomastique et analyse du discours sont autant de champs désormais explorés par cette discipline. </SPAN></FONT></FONT></div>
<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify;" class="MsoNormal"><SPAN><FONT size="3"><FONT face="Times New Roman"></FONT></FONT></SPAN> </div>
<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify;" class="MsoNormal"><SPAN><FONT size="3"><FONT face="Times New Roman">Des contributions exemplaires à l’orientation historiographique et/ou méthodologique couvrant différentes langues et différentes composantes de l’onomastique devront s’interroger sur les aspects précis ayant entraîné un accroissement de nos connaissances depuis que l’onomastique est devenu un objet de science, ainsi que sur les pistes éventuelles à explorer dans le futur. Quelles sont les avancées qui ont pu fournir des impulsions décisives dans le passé et qui sauront rendre l’onomastique attractive dans les décennies à venir : sont-elles principalement dues à l’ampleur des sources exploitées et à l’introduction de nouvelles technologies pour leur traitement (informatique, nouveaux médias) ? Découlent-elles plutôt de l’apparition de nouvelles méthodes d’analyse linguistique, de nouveaux questionnements ? À moins qu’il ne faille y voir le résultat d’une approche pluridisciplinaire, du contact et du dialogue avec les sciences voisines ?</FONT></FONT></SPAN></div>
