First of all, happy new year !

We are delighted to announce the relaunch of the online journal, Cahiers de l’AFLS (Association for French Language Studies).
<br>
>From January 2010 Emmanuelle Labeau (Aston University) and Kevin McManus (Newcastle University) will take over as editors and wish to give the journal a new impetus, a regular publication rate (2 issues a year in January and July) and an increased academic profile thanks to the support of a prestigious international editorial board.
<br>
<br>
In a difficult global climate for linguistics and French, the Cahiers de l’AFLS aim at :
<br>
- Supporting young researchers in their early publications by offering then detailed feedback from specialists in their research area ;
<br>
- Providing established researchers with a platform for quick dissemination of their ongoing studies, which is likely to lead to international cooperation or further publication in top-rated journals ;
<br>
- Encouraging Francophone or allophone researchers to publish in English or French by providing advice from specialist native-speakers.

Tout d'abord, heureuse année!
<br>
Nous avons l’immense plaisir de vous annoncer le re-lancement de la revue en ligne, Cahiers de l’AFLS (Association for French Language Studies). A partir de janvier 2010, Emmanuelle Labeau (Aston University) et Kevin McManus (Newcastle University) vont prendre la direction de la revue et souhaitent lui donner un nouveau souffle, une périodicité plus régulière (deux numéros par an en janvier et en juillet) et un profil scientifique accru par le soutien d’un prestigieux comité de lecture international.

<br>
Dans un climat global difficile pour la linguistique et le français, les Cahiers de l’AFLS veulent :
<br>
- soutenir les jeunes chercheurs dans leurs premières publications en leur offrant les rétroactions détaillées de spécialistes du domaine.
<br>
- fournir aux chercheurs établis une plate-forme de diffusion rapide pour les études en cours, susceptible de mener à des collaborations internationales ou à des publications dans les journaux les plus prestigieux.
<br>
- encourager les chercheurs francophones ou allophones à publier en anglais ou en français en leur offrant les conseils de locuteurs natifs spécialistes du sujet.
<br>
