le pouvoir de défamiliarisation que l’on reconnaît à la
littérature touche le texte dans sa chair même, alors
l’expérience de lecture se fait à la fois inquiétante et
intime. Cet ouvrage propose l’étude des romans de Golding,
Hoban, Mitchell, Self, Burgess et Orwell, écrits dans un
anglais altéré, modifié, « étrangisé », depuis les prémices du
langage articulé (Golding) jusqu’à la langue la plus
artificielle (Orwell).</span></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle"><font face="Arial" size="-1"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Décrivant
un monde pessimiste, post-apocalyptique ou totalitaire, ces
dystopies linguistiques des XXe et XXIe siècles semblent
incarner l’impensé ou l’inconscient des langues utopiques de
la tradition littéraire et philosophique. Mais dans les
déformations qu’il subit, le langage parvient à se libérer de
l’idéologie qui l’enchaîne et à sublimer le pessimisme,
transformant une lecture parfois difficile en une véritable
jubilation linguistique.</span></font></p>
<p class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle"><font face="Arial" size="-1"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Ces
linguistique-fictions dessinent une nouvelle carte
grammaticale, une grammaire du déséquilibre, toujours en cours
de formation, fonctionnant sur un mode métaphorique plus
proche du rhizome deleuzien que de l’arbre chomskien, une
linguistique qualifiée de « fantastique » dans le sens où elle
s’inscrit dans un entre-deux, oscillant entre la Raison
modélisante et le non-sens, entre le rationnel et
l’irrationnel, la langue et la parole, l’Un et le multiple.
Supplantant les dualismes traditionnels, ces langues
défamiliarisantes sont paradoxalement riches d’enseignement
sur le fonctionnement du langage, dans l’hommage qu’elles
rendent à son hétérogénéité constitutive.</span></font></p>
